Future Memories, Ter et Bantine

"Future Memories" by Ter et Bantine

“Future memories”. Such a contradiction in terms, sweeping our collective consciousness on a journey of abstract thought. This is the title of a new creative project from Italian fashion house Ter et Bantine, who have enlisted director Stefano Galuzzi to portray their Fall Winter 2010-11 collection through fashion film.

Starring avant-garde super model Kirsten Owen, one of the most luminescent faces of the 1990′s , “Future Memories” captures a polished vision of designer Manuela Arcari’s sharp, luxe aesthetic. Her execution of tailored womenswear pieces balances a delicate line of cool minimalism with a measured dose of opulence and a sense of freedom – be it a simple teeshirt cut in soft calfskin, or the heavy drape of a coat beaded to the floor.

The film holds an eerie sense of waiting, as though Kirsten is lost as time stands still, witnessing the garments themselves transforming around her. Watch as a sleeve slides from wrist to elbow, or a hood falls from Kirsten’s blonde mane, in an unsettlingly beautiful sequence of fashion moments.

“we are the one of yesterday

and those of today.
we’re stealing memories
for days to come
floating in a time
without dimension.”
