Welcome to the world of Hussein Chalayan

HC

Welcome to the world of Hussein Chalayan, a groundbreaking universe where fashion becomes architecture becomes art. Striving for innovation in fashion through an unexpected fusion of fabric, form and technology, Hussein always approaches his work through philosophy – creating garments as extensions of the body or representing the wider environment around it.

Graduating from Central St Martins in 1993, Chalayan presented a remarkable final collection entitled “The Tangent Flows”, burying silk dresses in the ground with iron filings to create a unique commentary on life, death and evolution. He has continued his quiet revolution in London, being crowned British Designer of the Year twice and received numerous other accolades, as well as exhibiting his work in prestigious institutions including the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Mode et Textile museum at the Louvre in Paris.
