Hermès X Jun Takahashi
KELLY BAG | HERMÈS CUSTOMISED BY JUN TAKAHASHI
Two beautifully disparate fashion worlds collide in this objet d’art – one of Hermès most iconic classics transformed by Jun Takahashi’s razor sharp sense of style and humour. And i do mean razor sharp.
The Kelly bag, named after Princess Grace Kelly, has remained one of the most sought-after handbags in the world, though here is rendered untouchable by Jun – studded with hundreds of golden spikes along the frame, clasp, handle and strap.
In patent box calf leather with gold plated hardware, the original bag asserts an air of ultimate luxury, yet here the opulence is entirely overturned in favour of Jun’s punk handiwork. Even the rivets exposed on the underside of the spikes suggest the bag has been violated by unwanted heavy metal.
The perfect accessory to wear at the concert of Jun’s favourite bands no? Have a listen here.
