It is not often that Jun Takahashi opens his mind to the public – divulging his thoughts and opinions in to an interviewer or camera. His work speaks so profoundly for itself, with each UNDERCOVER collection a reflection of Jun’s thought processes into underground counter-cultures, technology, and the wider world through his fantastical lens.

In an exclusive for TheCorner.com, one of A’s favourite online emporiums, Jun Takahashi was interviewed in Florence in June 2009 on the eve of his menswear show for Spring 2010 and his ‘Grace’ doll presentation held especially for Pitti Immagine. Jun speaks broadly on his work, the evolution of fashion and the internet and the specifics of his installation and show at Pitti. The video offers never-before-seen backstage and behind-the-scenes footage of his studio in preparations, the show itself, and an up close look at his precisely-executed accessories and garments for the season – inspired by the philosophy of industrial designer Dieter Rams – “less but better”.
