PHOTOGRAPHY | Yoshie Tominaga “The Shepherd”
Jun Takahashi has spent his career as a rather more reclusive designer than most – choosing to keep his personal identity separate from his corporate position – thus embodying the very terminology of UNDERCOVER.
“How sweet is the shepherd’s sweet lot!
From the morn to the evening he strays;
He shall follow his sheep all the day,
And his tongue shall be filled with praise.
For he hears the lambs’ innocent call,
And he hears the ewes’ tender reply;
He is watchful while they are in peace,
For they know when their shepherd is nigh.”
- from Songs of Innocence, William Blake.
In a beautiful new book titled ‘The Shepherd’, photographer Yoshie Tominaga reveals the intimate world of UNDERCOVER from an insider’s point of view. Spanning the creation of UNDERCOVER collection’s from 2002-2006, the tome contains studio photographs, personal notes, scrapbook excerpts, and other personal insights into Jun Takahashi’s universe.
‘The Shepherd’ is available in a limited run from Undercover stores and selected retailers worldwide.
