The world of Katsuya Kamo
Katsuya Kamo is a renowned Japanese hair stylist, whose distinguished portfolio of clients includes Chanel, Junya Watanabe and of course, UNDERCOVER.
With a career spanning two decades, Kamo’s creations have garnered international attention for their experimental effects, gravity-defying shapes and ironic touch. He regularly contributes his exaggerated volumes, elaborate headpieces and comical styling to publications such as Vogue Paris, Another Magazine, and V Magazine - with a current season campaign for Chanel also. During the runway season, Katsuya directs hair for the presentations of Junya Watanabe and Undercover.
For A MAGAZINE CURATED BY JUN TAKAHASHI, Katsuya Kamo worked with photographer Yasutomo Ebisu to create a still-life hair shoot of wigs and hair pieces suspended, matted and tangled in a dark confusion of everyday objects:
