For Fall Winter 2008, Kris Van Assche took a most alternative direction for his campaign photography, carrying the ‘undressed’ theme of his catwalk presentation to a laundromat in Los Angeles, shooting with renowned erotic photographer and director Jeff Burton. In a blurred and abstract work, Burton photographed porn actors Luca Di Corso, Blake Riley and Johnny Hazard in the steamy industrial setting, allowing the reflections of the glass to tell a multidimensional story of garments, metal and flesh. Always suggestive without being lewd, the images carry a soft, muted energy that sharpens only on the crisp broderie anglaise of a white shirt, the netting of Kris’ signature underwear, or the velcro straps of a sneaker.
