Kris Van Assche Defilé Mens SS10

The show was attended by crucial members of the international press circuit, and was narrowly missed by Usher, this season’s Kanye West it seems [Kanye attended many shows in Paris over the past few seasons, though was notably absent this time around]. A crucial part of the world of Kris Van Assche is the boys from whom he draws inspiration. Kris casts his shows in South America as well as Paris (in Buenos Aires and Rio), and many of the same boys make the long journey season after season as Kris’s muses [including Facundo Pellegrino, below].

Kris was interviewed backstage after the show, describing the aesthetic of his collection as the look of “an African in New York”, referring to the blend of traditional ethnic robe shapes with shirting fabrics, sandals with urban details, and the pops of acid colour in a widely monochrome palette.
