Proenza Schouler rocks CRYSTALLIZED™ – Swarovski
Photography by Lazaro Hernadez and Jack McCollough.
Jack and Lazaro of Proenza Schouler have taken their curation of A as a challenging new experience – a personal project that they have tackled head-on for the past year.
This endeavour saw the boys trying many new things, ‘wearing different hats’, and their collaboration with CRYSTALLIZED™ - Swarovski Elements was no exception.
For their pre-spring 2010 collection, Proenza Schouler created a stunning white silk crepe shift dress, and utilising CRYSTALLIZED™ - Swarovski Elements, adorned it with rows of cascading circular crystals. The piece has an air of both 1920s flapper and 1960s mod – but is rendered purely 21st century with the precise cut of Proenza Schouler. This dress, in tune with the philosophy of all Proenza Schouler’s collections, reinterprets their references to the past with a fresh and modern eye.
The shoot is a stunning depiction of the dress sans model, its own weight and drape given prime concern as it hangs precariously from a concrete ledge, it’s only hold on the earth – a black velvet coat hanger.
