Turning a classically beautiful nude portrait on its side, celebrated photographic duo Inez Van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin have uncovered a new beauty to Estonian supermodel Carmen Kass. In this triptych for Riccardo Tisci’s A#8, Carmen’s long, languid features seem stretched and morphed across the three double pages, each nearly identical image offering a slight shift in her shoulder, the arc of her neck or the fall of her long, thick hair.

As perennial favourites of A Magazine curators, the husband and wife duo of Inez & Vinoodh have contributed many timeless images to various issues, including the stark nudes of Hannelore Knuts in Haider Ackermann’s A#3. Their illustrious career has rendered them icons themselves in the industry, even starring in the latest Lanvin menswear campaign for SS10, Inez covered in body paint and Vinoodh wearing the collection. However their best work is undoubtedly behind the lens, creating sensual imagery and celebration the female form in unconventional ways through classic mediums.
